Default New 225/55ZR16 Michelin Pilot A/S tires for sale

I was going to post this in the classifieds, but there were no other ads there, so....I figured I'd just post a link to my Roadfly ad.

Default Only 2% difference in size, plus your odo is probably off anyway

    Bimmerdood,

I checked Tirerack and found that the difference in diameter between 225/55 and 225/50 is only 2% (225/55 = 806 revs per mile; 225/50 = 824 revs per mile). The reason I bring this up is because it is very typical for speedometers, especially BMW speedometers, to register faster than you're actually going. I'm sure this is due to traffic ticket liability. I know that my 1991 535i is off by 2% because I've timed myself over long distances on the interstate and found my real speed was slower than my indicated speed. Anyway, food for thought. I've actually thought of buying larger tires for my car, but I don't have a lot of extra clearance between the inner sidewall and strut tower. Such is life!

I just had 225/55's on, and they looked too meaty for me, and made it seem floaty (might have been teh brand of tires i had). I have the Kumho 712's on now, and the look and feel of them is great, that 2% is the difference i will sacrifice
