I won't say I do any drift racing, but I practice in a few of my favorite spots on occasion. The Dunlops are starting to show noticeable wear, so I'll need a new set by spring. Sideways is a beautiful thing!

When I had my e34 thats what I did with it, I had like 3 sets of used rear tires and at the time I knew of a few abandoned parking lots.

The e34 already has oversteer, so straight out of the box its great fun.

    Default OK, that does it.

Like Scott, I have a 540 6-speed. Kicked it hard around a corner to impress some of the girls from work and whoa! That's fun. I can't afford racing, but I think I can afford drifting. Just need to find the proper venues in which to do it "responsibly."

Currently on stock everythig with Mark's chip and pretty fresh Yoko db IIs.

Default One curb is all it takes to make you realize you can't afford drifting : )

Default Will absolutely keep that in mind.

Not to mention walls, trees, signs, sides of buildings, etc., LOL.

Yet may very well move toward picking up a late-'80s RWD Japanese car. Any recommendations for good drifting cars?

I guess suspension and motor mounts might suffer from curbs too (although I would be doing my best to just kiss them) - what else springs to mind?

Crap, are you trying to keep me in responsible mode? You might talk me out of it yet, but it's not taking over US motorsports for nothing!

yeah I learned that the hard way in a Scirroco on Woodward one night in the wet when trying to take a turn around too fast years ago....kept trying to grab lower gears to slow me down but wasn't enough. Those curbs can be pretty unforgiving. One new stamped lower control arm later and I was good to seek out other curbs.
I really did like that car...great balance for a FWD car...the early style designed my the famous master Giorgetto Giugiaro whose body of work makes Chris Bangle look like a cartoonist.
