Default Fuel injector leaking. how to tell?

I have told a long start time on a cold start can be a symptom of a possible leaking fuel injector. Is this true?

Occasionally upon a cold start, usually the first start of the day, the car will "cough" and crank a few seconds then start and run fine. I have been told the offending injector will leak fuel down into a cylinder and cause the first start problem. What do you think? I do know from an oil analysis, I have a small oil dilution issue due to fuel.

    TIA
    Thanks,

Default Do a fuel rail pressure hold test, with both, ...

incoming and return lines press closed. If pressure does not hold, yes you have a leaking injector. Which one? That's another story.

Yes you can have cold start issues with a leaking injector.

Default and a cold start issue with a leaking check valve

That is very often the case. Pressure reduces over night and fuel goes back into the fuel tank.
See Bruno's website for adding an extra new check valve into the line.
Leaking injector valves can be repaired and checked by specialized companies for a small amount.
Nice info and explanations on this page
