Default Boot (trunk) reflector piece... right between the tailights

I had some interest expressed in the reflector piece between the tailights. JohnB tells me this is not a piece fitted to U.S. models? I removed it from the 540i to show how it fits - it's held in place with double sided tape only. As you can see from the pic there are 2 holes cut for the screws for the licence plate. I don't know if the position of the holes is where U.S. models have them.
    The part no. is 8212 9 401 095

    regards
    Phil

Slight correction, I was told the U.S. "reflector" is actually 2 pieces & contains another brake light. They also mount differently requiring holes in the trunk, or so I was told. I'll be picking one up Sunday & will know more then although any U.S. 530/540 (94-95?) owner should be familiar with them.

in the auction house. Registration plates are similar size as in the US.
    Price around US $ 110

    Default I've never seen this....

on US models, but it would be a nice add-on. Are they available with the correct mounting holes for US plates?

Default Hole placement should not matter...

...as you can drill new ones and they would be under a US style plate by the looks of it. I would like to get one of these reflector plates if anyone has one to sell.

wouldn't that look out of place with a US plate?

I'd git me one if the reflectors came in to the US plate width.

    cool though. thanks
