Default front windshield molding flapping - how to resecure?

while driving above speed limit... suddenly heard a rapping sound. sounded like a rock caught in the wheelwell, but sound was coming higher place - like under the hood. rattling lasted for 10 seconds and subsided as I slowed down.

pulled over and noticed the front windshield molding had separated from the windshield to each corner of the windshield.

the molding does not snap back onto the clips. so assume new clips are needed. Last resort is to pull the windshield to R&R clips. But I'm thinking of trying some epoxy glue to secure the moldings.

    anyone have other suggestions?

    TIA,
    mike

Use clear silicone sealer instead of epoxy. Clean the area as best you can. Apply sealer and weight the part to ensure that it bonds and seals or tape it in place. Allow plenty of time at the correct temperature to cure properly. My glass man says all BMWs have this problem and it is an easy fix. I did my rear strips this way.
