Default guide rails for timing chain?

    Hello,

About to order the timing chain tensioner piston and spring to replace the old one, what about the guide rails (chain tensioner rail and the guide rail)? Do they wear out? What do you look for to see if they need to be replaced?

    Thanks in advance.

If your going to be there why not replace it? Not like you do the replacement every oil change.

Lost my manual, I know it is in the garage under the xmas stuff somewhere. Looked all over the internet for procedure to replace the rails, how involved is it?

On edit, never mind....Found my manual
