    Default 1994 525i to S52 &528i 5spd Swap - Which Driveshaft?

Can anyone give me a hint as to which driveshaft will fit with this swap ? I have a 528i transmission to swap in and my current drive shaft flex disk off the 525i is a tad too small in diameter for the holes to lineup... On the same note will the shift linkage swap over from the 525i tranny to to the 528i tranny ?

Hi, I plan on doing a 5 spd swap into my 1995 525ia. I was wondering if the 528i tranny is the one I need to get.

you could use that one...i think that is the getray tranny though (correct me if i'm wrong)

i used the ZF M3 tranny from the E36 though...just as another option. it's a tad more expensive, but it's stronger.

    penguin,
was your old engine an M50tu? have any more extensive info if it is?

    may be interested

My 1994 525i 5 speed does use the M50TU engine with the getrag transmission . I want to put in the e36 transmission but the flex disks aren't the same. What kind of info about it are you looking for? It's still in the car and I use it daily yet, until I get all the parts for the swap... after that both the engine and transmission will be up for sale.

My real last hangup is this driveshaft problem... and which driveshaft I use (say does the rear of the 528i driveshaft mount up with my current differential), or can I use my old driveshaft by removing the flange off the old transmission and putting the flange on the new ZF transmission ?

Thanks for any help someone could provide...
