    Default speedometer stop working

    I have 520i 89 my speedometer stop working any body
    can help me how to start working

    Default start at the speed sensor at the rear end housing.

    you should be able to test the sensor in the diff with a multimeter, theres two different types of speed sensors, the style generally used by bmw is a switch that opens and closes the circuit, look for conteneuity to pulse on and off quickly as the driveshaft turns. the other style is a ac current generator, the faster the driveshaft turns the higher the ac voltage (i mention this one because i am not sure if a euro model will be the same as our usa cars, so you will know how to check out ether one)
