Default Battery hold down bracket MIA

I inpected the battery area underneath the rear seat and noticed that the hold down bracket is missing.

I'm not sure which one I need though.

    I'm guessing #4 or #12

I can't lift it, but it can slide about 1/2" forward and back.

Default is there any kind of clamp or hold down keeping it from lifting up?

maybe it just needs to be tightened?

i'm not entirely sure which is missing on yours, but i'm somewhat suspect of 12 if you can rock it back and forth. if you are concerned about it, and can't see either installed, i'd get both.

If you input the last 7 digits of your VIN...then work your way over to the diagram you posted above...if you look at the part number index beneath the diagram you can tell which one is for your car. If the item number is not listed in the parts index...then that part isn't used in your car.

I just went to the sight and did it...and my 1995 525iT only showed #4 in the parts list...and the "from" coumn...it says 04/1991...but that could be for the Touring only...so I would recheck that info if you own a sedan.
