    Default Help with ATF leak...

1992, 525i, M50 E34 - I have a slow leak that looks to be towards the front of the engine. Could it be the power steering pump or for the tranny cooler?
What is the pump on the drivers side, lower part of the engine, below the steering fluid resevoir? Steering seems fine, but I did have to top it off.

should inspect a little closer but it could be the hoses leaking. Sounds like your refrencing the power steering pump to me.

Would you get some steering pump growling when cold if it's that system?

Default yep, hoses go bad and...

the steering pump is a hydraulic pump, soo it would make a growling sound if its cavatating with air. such as being low of fluid.
