    Default BMW Coolant

Is it worth it? I'm about to drain and refill my cooling system with a new water pump and hoses. Should I even bother driving all the way out to the stealer and paying the $20/gallon?

use Zerex G-05. available at most auto parts store for around $9 per container.

i did extensive research, and the stuff is very very similar (and approved by mercedes benz, audi, etc)

Agreed, got my radiator, new shroud, clips and other misc. stuff and Partrick recommended the Mercedes coolant over the BMW coolant, same stuff (he said) but different color, ask him about it.

Default BMW requires a special coolant?

I'm having my leaky water pump replaced tomorrow. Currently there is green coolant in the system - am I to understand BMW requires a special coolant?
