A friend of mine has a 6 with a blown piston... here is his email:

I managed to blow the motor in my 3.0 cs. #6 cylinder looks to have gotten
hungry and injested the spark plug, leading to piston failure and at least
some cylinder wall damage (not sure how severe). In any case, my intention
is to replace the motor rather than to rebuild it.

So, perhaps you can help:

1) I'm in the market for a suitable motor, new or used. I'm NOT looking to

keep the car original but rather am looking for fuel injection and something

likely modified to produce at least 225 ft/lbs torque that's strong at the
low end (best for autocrossing, I'm not as interested in top-end
horsepower). My dream is of course an M6 motor but I'm not that rich so
must be more modest. Need to consider how much customization may be
required to install in my 3.0 cs.

2) I'd like to sell my blown motor, either in it's entirety or parting it
out. It currently has three Weber 45 DCOE's, a Metric Mechanics cam (330
degree?), Kuglelfuger manifold, a newer head (older ones tend to crack and
overheat), five nice pistons :-) etc. Block is a marked as a "3.0/3.3"
liter and is in fact a 3.3.

So, I appreciate the help. Feel free to forward to friends in your network
of car enthusiasts.
