Pre-wired For Alarm...Means What?

If my 1992 525i is factory wired for an alarm - what must I do to get an alarm?

obtain a keyless kit and plug it in, the plug is by the battery under the back seat, kit consists of about a 3' harness a brain a key fob or two a led and a glass breakage mic, the led and gb mic get installed in the rear of the center console as per the supplyed template, the brain gets velcroed/double stick taped to the top of the e-box opposit the battery

Ah, Winfred, you are a wealth of information. Where and how much for the said Keyless Entry Kit? And is it just a Keyless Entry or an actual alarm system? Thanks again.

i don't see any of the right ones on ebay right now, try your local dealer to get a idea on the price as it's been a few years since i've gotten a new one, probably between $200-300 new and around 1/2 that for a unused new one on the bay, not sure what the used salvaged market is on ebay
