    Hi,

Not too sure which particular part you are talking about but the receptacle is a two piece assembly. There is a case and a "holder" that are joined by a hex bolt at the base of the seat. You will probably need to remove the seat to get at the bolt but once it is out the pieces should seperate with light pressure. Good Luck.

    Best,
    Rory

This may be a recall issue. Call a BMW dealer and ask for warranty manager.
Give them the Vin# It may qualify for a free replacement. I had an open recall
on my 1990 E34 when I purchased the car. Good Luck.
