Default "Notchy" Power Steering on M3

Guys I took my M3 out tonight (I do this about once per month) and the steering was notchy. It goes perfectly straight, but turning left sucks. Turing right is not quite as bad. Tires are okay, ps fluid slightly low, but looks like it has a sheen. Belt is okay. Ideas?
    Thanks

if it spends a lot of time sitting a valve could be sticking in the rack, try driveing it some more and see if it goes away
