    Default Evaporator ??

I thought it was my heater core that went out, but after some disassembly, it looks like the evaporator. All the coolant leaked through the drain out onto the exhaust, which smoked like a mother........ Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Thanks, and BTW, the trunk is STILL jammed.

the valve usually leaks enough for the oil to turn the right side rubber drain into jello, but they generally don't puke hard

    Thanks Winfred.

    Follow-up question:
Is it really necesary to replace the drier after I change the evaporator and expansion valve? While searching, I've seen some say that you have to replace it every time you open up the system. Any thoughts?

It is recommended... but lots of people I know don't. Especially when your vacuum the system before refilling it.

when changing a major component i strongly recomend a new drier, but not when the system is only open a few minutes to change a o-ring
