I just burned through a set of rears in about a year and a half. probably about 12k miles. Mines lowered with 17" wheels(235/45's). Tempts me to go back to stock springs and wheels. I just took it in for an alignment last week. Of course there is nothing you can do for the rear camber. I guess you could get the Dinan eccentric trailing arm deals for $500?

short of eccentric bushings, all you can do is not go for a big drop...not run a staggered set up and rotate your wheels a bit. A little attention to tire pressure helps as well...higher in the rear to get some of the foot print toward the tire centerline and off the shoulder.

Lowering the rear changes the toe, which grinds the tire a lot more than camber. After lowering my old e12, I chewed up one set of tires pretty quickly, in spite of their high treadwear rating. Second set of tires was softer, lower treadwear rating, and actually lasted longer. Then I found eccentric bushings, got the toe close, left the big negative camber, and get reasonable wear.

when my dunlops bought the farm prematurely at 20k miles, the driver of the 850 (cousin of a friend) said that he only got about 10-12k miles on a set of semi-performance tires, about 16 or 17 inches. guess its normal.
