the leather is rotting from the oil in your hands or if you use lots of hand lotion (and don't remove it before driving) once it gets to the point you can't stand it you can cut the leather off and see how you like the rubber that's underneath, i kinda like it some hate it, just a option to try before shelling out for another wheel
