Thread: Touring Roof Rack Locks

    Default Touring Roof Rack Locks

Does anyone know who the OEM supplier was for the Touring Roof Racks? I have roof racks but no keys for the locks. The key has RO15 (or R015) stamped on it, but there are no other markings. I was thinking that maybe a bike shop could help out if I knew the manufacturer.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Mike-

I will check my roof rack tonight when I get home (wife drives the Touring... RO15 sounds familiar-

By a wild shot- do you want me to get a copy made of my key?- maybe there is a remote possiblity it will work in you roof rack lock too?

Whatever I can do to help~

There should be a number in the keyset (that stainless ring with the slot where the key fits in) that a locksmith should be able to match in a book, get the key pattern from and cut you a new one.

That's the way my Thule system works. Your best bet is to drive your car to a locksmith location and have one of the geezers come out and check it for you.

When you are ready to upgrade to the snap and go Thule system, let me know. Then you can lower your toys straight onto the car, snap in and go.

The rack system with the combi-box is about $400. You could get that selling your OEM racks.

email Marty for his modified footpack (the mounting clip with the raindrops on it) http://www.martyscycle.com/ I think he sells it with load bars for $165. Then what you mount on it is up to you.
