    Default HOW do I start my 540i my key broke on the ON position.. HELP Urgent

    I come home and i try to turn of my car but it doesnt but the key comes out. so i turn the car of by pulling some sensors in the intake now I want to start it crank the engien so i can drive it to the shop. i dissconnect the battery when i leave the car because everything is on but the engine. HELP HELP URGENT

    Can you use a pair of needle nose pliers to extract the broken section, which would allow you to use your spare key?

    Default noo no no not the key the ignition doesnt turn back too off and its loose.

    Is it loose to the point where you can move it but it won't turn forward to start but also won't turn back to totally off? Maybe lubing the assembly.....not sure, your mechanism might have decided to die, which has happened before. A tiny bit of WD40 might work. YMMV.

    Sounds like the Ign lock plungers or springs may have colapsed.
