Still having problems with this 1991 e32 735i. It is idling up and down.
I have tested:
replaced O2 sensor
Full charge on battery
replaced Spark plugs
replaced rotor and rotor cap
refurbished eml throttle body No help
eml replaced.
Smoked intake no leaks
refurbished afm tested
replaced afm
fuel pressure is fine
Clamp off evap system and test evap valve
March 2017 its been 5 months now
found a bad engine grounding strap and replace it
testing wiring between afm and DME no problems
replaced DME
Still having the engine idling problem it starts up but continually ramps up and down between 1000 and 2000 rpms. Once you shift the car into drive and the engine has a load on it the ramping will stop.
anyone ever heard of this problem being caused by crankshaft position sensor. Or perhaps a bad ground?
I have attached a link to the video.
