    Default E34 530i hydro brakes/ pwr steering

    Hi Y'all...
    Australia model 10.93 E34 530i, just ticked over 350,000 km's.
I have the hydro brakes, similar to e28 M30's, and a power steering system which doesn't match the real oem description.
Hang on Mr Erik, I'll get the build number.. WBAHE22060GE78640
I have a leak which I suspect is coming from the main line from the regulator? to 'under the front of the engine, presumably to the steering pump, or something. (I'm not pulling it apart until I get parts...)
It looks as if the main line has been touching the sensor, so think thats the leak.
Sorry I cant be more specific, but I cant find any info specific to my model. which is what I'm asking basically...
All I want is an oem diagram and I can buy a new hose.
Pretty sure it's rubbed through on the metal...

That is interesting, that also a RHD E34 530i with the M60B30 V8 has a hydraulic brake booster unit, similar to my E32 750iL , parts are listed here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...BMW-530i&mg=34
    Brake servo unit 1 34331161950
you mentioned, that the sensor was the problem, I assume one of the 2 sensors at the proportioning valve/pressure regulator http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=34_0457

usually the Pentosin is leaking around the 2 spades/connectors for the cable loom, the plastic gets brittle and then it leaks, also happened on my E32 750.

Just for info, as your hydraulic brake booster units costs more than $1300 and of course will also start to leak one day, Jay Stratton repairs brake boosters and brake master units for various BMW models, good quality and good prices.
I also recently sold him a defective brake booster unit from an E31 850/E32 750 which he wanted to have as core to repair and keep as stock, so he can deliver immy when someone orders ex stock and the buyer returns his defective unit to him as core.
Here some links, updated by Jay, he recently sent me an email: quote: Erich,

Thanks for the info, interesting options list. Gives me proper build date, which may help me solve the driveshaft dilemna (ordered a shaft with a smaller spline, dunno what it's off?).
I have a german master mechanic deals with all high end euro's and doesn't mind sparing me a minute for DIY's.
As you said, was the sensor leaking, and have ordered a replacement (X both).
I need to work on my p/s unit, steering has a slight 'dead spot' and it leaks somewhere, may have been switch whole time?
But I take it I cannot transplant a 'normal, ps pump into it?
As always, thanks for your help.

From the E32 750 I know that one can install a single power steering pump instead of a dual pump. Or you just make a return line that the fluid always goes back into the reservoir, just make a u-turn for feed and return line.

I had a 95 530 built 6/93 US. Driveshaft had the larger input yoke a the rear end, bigger differential output shafts. Tried to swap to my current 95 530 which has all the smaller splines/yokes. If you never tried to swap between the years no one would ever know. Had to swap the complete thing.
