Default Keyless remote not working proiperly on 95 525i

Keyless (3 button alpine system in the 95 525i) now works intermittently. Raise the rear seat and it works fine. Changed the battery in both remotes. Both remotes act the same. Not sure where to troubleshoot.
    Thanks,

Inspect the area there when you lift the rearseat. Must be something there which happens when you lift the seat. Jammed/broken wires, or a microswitch?

No visible microswitch re the seat. I have cleaned the antenna connection. Tried to rearrange the antenna location or direction pointed. No change. Just seems the signal reception is weak. Seat is now dow and works. problem seems intermittent.
    Thanks,

    Default May be bad battery

I put my car on a battery tender and when the voltages is at 12 to 12.8 volts the remote and radio worked fine. Disconnect the charger and play the radio and noticed the voltage drops quickly. At about 11.5 volt level the remote does not work and the radio starts losing the weaker channels and the car starts slowly. So something is wrong with my electrical system. I am guessing the battery is bad or the alt is not keeping it charged properly.
    Thanks,

Make a load test for the battery, you have these autozone etc shops where they maybe make it free of charge. I got a battery load tester from Harborfreight someone from the forum bought for me and sent it to Japan.

Will do. The dying battery is a Duralast 49 DL 4-years old.
    Thanks,

That's not very old. Use the on board diagnostics and see what the voltage is at while running, this should give you an idea what is actually going on. The voltage regulator and brushes might be causing the voltage to stay lower than optimal.

Brings up questions to my own car, radio signal sucks and it cranks much faster after sticking it on a charger... I will do the OBD voltage test also.

Replaced the battery with an Interstate T8 a few days ago. So far the remote seems to be working fine. Go figure.
