Swapping a Radiator from a 1995 530i into a 1992 535i?

Hi,

The hose neck on my 1992 535i 5spd radiator broke or was broke when I got the car, and hose popped off. I might be buying my old 1995 530i (M60) Automatic as a parts car, and would like to use the radiator from it.

Found a thread discussing it, but just wanted to confirm its possible.

I could take the radiator, shroud, and fan from the 95 530i and install them into the 92 535i easily? Does the fan from the 95 fit the 92 without any mods?

I was surprised how many diff radiators were in the E34s.

The easiest is you just compare the part numbers of both cars on www.realoem.com
As for the visco fan, the blades could be longer = the shroud not fitting, also there are visco clutches with 3 and 4 bolts holding the fans, but that you can check on the parts lists.

I doubt the shroud and fan will interchange since the fan on the 3.5 is in a different position. Radiator part numbers between an auto trans car and manual will be different. Only way is to compare side by side.
