Default E38 story in current Roundel

Check out the article "One Big Baby" about a supercharged 740 with extensive mods.

Cool story. Maybe I do that to mine. Eh, maybe not. I'd prefer only the 6 speed manual tranny.

    A Bimmer Nut for sure: '04 530im (current daily driver), '97 m3, '98 323is, '99 Z3, '01 740iL, '06 330cicm zhp, '02 R1150R, '69 r60, Owner/Operator of www.Bimmer.info and www.BimmerNut.com
And I still maintain: '90 535im (sold to daughters best friend, one of my favorite bimmers), '92 525im (daughters other best friend now drives this one).

Default Ed, I forgot that you have an E38 - I am about to

buy a 1999 740i. It is a dark green color, which is one of my favorite bimmer colors. The car has the premium DSP sound system with the CD trunk changer, and the cold weather package (heated seats, steering wheel, etc.). The car is being sold from a used car dealership that only deals in higher end cars, so I won't get a great price. It has 90,000 miles and everything is working fine. The car is perfect in appearance. This dealership prides themselves in offering only cars in the best condition.

They are asking for $19,000, but I think I can get it for a bit less.

Anything in these cars that I should look out for? I am only familar with the E34's and mostly the 525i's, so I feel a bit out of my league with the 8-cylinders.

    Thanks,

    Dick Schneiders
