    good work erich. I have never had the problem before and its over 20 years old now.

    I like this idea... but would first try adding larger heat sinks (lumps of aluminium fixed to the existing heat sinks using screws and silicon compound). Holes/vents in the casing would no doubt help too. They seldom engineer electronics to deal withe the extremes for more than 2 decades!
