Auto Trans Shift Lever Feel -- How To Renew?

It looks right to me. I have the leather handle but the wood finish is just a veneer. Somebody may have been heavy handed as the veneer is cracked. Under it you have padding and that can get in the way a little when you take the screw out. Its a very small allen key though the head of the screw is about 1/4 inch. My allen key isnt marked but if you cant find the right size I will check mine and give you the measurement 'across the flats'

I can't get any small metric Alan key to catch. I assume it's the inner lighter metal opening that I'm trying to fit, not the black collar that's before it. Obviously, the black collar is rounded / stripped, though somebody's efforts. I ordered the screw (and a new pull rod) so I can see what fits.
