Default How to remove the outer door handle

Does anyone have some good tips or instructions for removing the outer door handles? I just swapped drivers doors and still have access to my old door and lock cylinder. I also have to take the new door apart again anyway as I'm having an issue with the lock button not functioning. Figure that as long as I have it apart for that, and would need to remove the door handle anyway in order to re-do the lock cylinder, it might be just as easy to swap in the door handle from my old door.

Problem is, I've never changed a BMW door handle. I don't have a Bentley manual available and I'm in Germany. I could probably buy one in a local book store, but, it would end up being in German. My only other option is to mail order one, but, it would take at least a week to get here. In the mean time, my door won't lock and I'd really like to get this fixed in the next few days.

If anyone as any good instructions, or can point me in the right direction to find them, I'd appreciate it. I've been searching both the internet and this site for hours and haven't found what I'm looking for.

    Thanks in advance.

Actually, that helps a lot. I had a lot of this done the other day, but, couldn't figure out just from looking at the inside of the handle how it came out. This clears up a lot. The good thing is that I can practice using the old door so I know what to do and not when I work on the new door.

    Thanks for the link.

Did the latch come all the way out with the lock actuator attached using this procedure? I want to take my lock actuator out to see if it can be repaired.
