I dont see why not. what can it hurt?
I was wondering if I can swap the Eibach/Koni front struts currently fitted to my 1989 535iA sedan with the front struts on my 1992 525iA Touring?
Officially Eibach don't list springs for the Touring and I know I can't just swap out the rear suspension due to the Touring's auto levelling system.
However according to the factory specs the 535iA sedan weighs 1605kgs and the 525iA Touring is 1610kgs - only 5kgs (11 lbs) more.
So if the weights are so close are there any other issues preventing such a swap? - TIA

Yep, agreed. But it is about weight distribution more than just the total. 540i is neavier at the front than 535i for instance, but it has a much heavier trans. It should be good. Eibach do special springs sets for Tourings with SLS/LAD, do they not do them for non-LAD cars? They should... but anwyay, for sure 530i/535i struts will work and fit well.
