Default Show me your customized interior lighting

I've had some fun with LEDs, taking apart a puck-sized battery operated lamp with 24 LEDs in it, and making a customized lighting arrangement for my closet. So I'm thinking about adding some lighting in the E34 and would like to see what you might have done.

    Let's see 'em !

Haven't taken pictures yet, but I illuminated the interior door handles since passengers tended to have trouble finding the black handles in the dark. Seems to do the trick. The next task is to connect them to the window switch cluster so that they are illuminated whenever it is. That way I don't have to have the ignition turned on to power the LEDs.

Never going to be able to top the new 5er for interior lighting though:

That's a fabulous idea. Show us pics when you can!

I like that neon looking thing. It looks like a plastic rod, which I'd like to find so as to mimic this sort of thing. Then again, I do have an acrylic sheet lying around I could play with and perhaps get some kind of similar effect.

Oh, in the meantime, would you mind sharing what your LEDs are feeding off of.

    Thanks!

I made a little maplight under the ashtray so I can see without illuminating the entire cabin.

It's not super pimp but it's functional and uses a factory fader that I added a switch to... maybe someday I'll find a light I like better.

Quite nice Tim. I like the plastic surrounding the light. Where'd you get that or did you make it from something?

Thanks... I used one of those little screw-in plastic wiring conduits and jammed a washer-fluid grommet inside it... I think.... (shrug)

In doing the same, I'm considering feeding the light for the back doors from the window switches. Both of my switches' lights are dead, and in replacing with an LED, it might do to get a feed from there to a second LED. Although I would have to devise a way of doing it without stopping the panel from being taken off, I would have to add a connector to that layout. Links I had found from Shogun gave me the idea.

The trouble so far will be to find a good connector I could use to plug and unplug the LED.

Otherwise I'm thinking of adding a pair of LEDs per front foot wells so far, and link those to the cabin lights.
