i'd say the UK
Hey guys
Used to own a 95 525i saloon... Stupidly 'upgraded' to an E46. Miss the E34.
Decided this time I'm going to do it right though, E34 touring, then get some M60 goodness thrown in.
Here in Australia, BMW only brought the 525i tourings over and there are never many for sale, yet alone a clean update model.
Have had the odd look on Autotrader in the UK and stuff, but was wondering which country would be my best bet to find a nice clean E34 touring for sale?
Then comes the fun import game... Next research project.
Cheers
Aden

That's true but I hear horror stories about hidden rust, etc, etc... But would be worth it if I could find a factory 540 touring I guess?
Seen the M5 swapped touring on carsales atm, Kriss? Asking too much for it though I think.

I know that a lot of money, but another e34 m5 touring that I met at victoria has his insured for 40k.
true about uk cars having rust, but there aren't many touring in australia. I would just wait untill one is for sale in australia. there would be more in the uk, but a hassle to bring over here.
Think you will pay more in shipping and import duty/car tax/ VAT than the car is actually worth:

Surely you could get a nice Touring over there for max 1,500 pounds, that again to ship it, etc, still beats the going rate of a standard average 525i touring here which goes for at least AU$9,000. I'll just have to keep researching this personal import law and see if there's a way around it... LMCT?

You could try Japan, although it won't be cheap from there I'm sure.
Came across a mint M5 touring from there, in showroom condition (sorry don't have a link). They tend to keep cars in better condition in Japan IMO, that might be something to consider.
Just an update, ending up finding a Calypso touring in Australia (albeit on the other side of the country), so should be picking it up next weekend!
