Default Does my driveshaft need balancing?

    I think I do...

I pulled out my drive shaft to replace the centre bearing. I marked/punched the gearbox flanges and diff/CV joint flanges. But silly me didn't mark the shaft itself to line up the spline.
    So, it needs balancing, right?

Oh, and I have pulled the shaft appart...

there are original punch marks or colour marks on the drive shaft how it was originally assembled. clean it and you will find the marks.

if you cant find the marks the usual culprit is the 2 shafts are off by 45 degrees one way or the other. Hope you find the marks.

    Hey guys,

    Thanks for the replies.
I couldn't really find any marks that I was confident with. So I'll be taking it to get balanced (paying for my mistake :P).
I'll make sure to mark it clearly.

Didn't see those. Well I took it to the balancing shop, turns out my U-joint is shot. It's a bit stiff to move in all directions...so he'll be doing that too....*cha-ching*

while you are in there, replace engine mounts and transmission mounts, best chance and you will have a new feeling

all straight again: engine>>trans>>> - driveshaft
