Default Don Gales banjo bolts to the rescue.

Did the valves last weekend along with water pump and thermostat. Banjo bolts were taken off without a wrench. If I had waited a few K more I am sure they would have worked themselves out.

Car has only 62K on it and valves really didn't need much adjustment. Two were a little loose one was a little tight and the rest were fine.

My friend Steve showed me a nice way to turn over the engine. Wires put in numbers 11 and 14 of the round code reader turn the motor over when touched together. Beats finding a 32mm wrench and taking out a plug. But I am sure most of you guys already know of this technique?

Thanks again Don for a nice system. Now can someone post a link that gives a step by step thread on intake and valley pan gaskets for a 530?

Not sure about the 530 as I haven't seen the engine, but maybe its close to the V8 540 engine? If so, here are some threads. These are the m62 engine instead of the m60, but they should pretty pretty darn identical if your 530 is anything similar to the 540.

    This is for a 96 v8

This is for 740 v8 also

    Good luck!

Thanks for the kind words Denny. I've opened valve covers on some m30's & the banjo bolts had completely backed out and were laying in the oil return drain.

    Glad it worked out.

    Cheers,
    Don
