Default Anyone read DRIVEN, Inside BMW the most

Admired Car Company in the World by David Kiley. Just wonder what the opinions are on the book.

Default Do you guys read? :-)

I just started reading it. Very interesting look at BMW culture and what formed the company. It says on page 18 that the e34 is the inspiration for the new e60 as the proporations of the e34 were really perfect. Not sure what to think about that comment except I think the e34 styling looks elegant today. My old e28 was not elegant!

I was recently at a gathering of BMW interests at a local BMW dealership. Most were e28 and e39 M5 owners. I was surprised at how much interest there was in my "plain & stock" e34 525i.

At least this is what page 18 of Driven indicates.

Interesting book. It helps understand (a little) why BMW cars are not quite as reliable as many other vehicles. IMO, mostly German management style and strict priority on "driving" quality over everything else. The Japanese have different priorities such as reliability, smoothness and interior appearance for their high end cars.
