    Default Alpine CDE-103EBT

Got sick of the chinese EONON product [7" LCD w/DVD etc. (too voltage dependent)] and was given the Alpine unit for my birthday.

Installation was really easy after taking out old unit BUT...

New Unit: Radio works fine but no sound from other functions. No CD or Aux or Ipod.
Thought it was a faulty unit so sent first one back but the new one is the same.

Any thoughts from the radio gurus?

    TIA

Going by your description I would say the headdeck is still not working, as there is sound coming out from the radio, so you know the speakers are connected properly. As you got a new unit Greg, with the same problem I have no idea

Is the headdeck working with the cd installed, I mean does it start counting in second then a track is being played?

Yep, it does everything the manual says.
Insert a cd and it shows the folder and the track playing plus counting down the seconds. I've changed the settings to read MP3s again, reset and tried everything again.
Its really strange, at first I thought it was an analogue/digital thing cause of the amp in the boot but the previous head unit worked with it and it played DVD MP3/4 ran with USB etc.
My auto elec mate thinks maybe a crook batch??

    FOUND IT!

There are 2 blue wires from the unit.
1 for the aerial and the other to operate the amp (I assumed if aftermarket amp installed).
The last head unit had only one blue wire for the aerial which turned on the amps.
Switch wires and all is good.
