Fuel Filler Door

Hello,
I keep having this problem at the pump but I never think to ask it later....Everytime I go to fill up the car I can seem to get the gas filler door all the way open, at least not enough to have both the pump in there and put the gas cap on its little holder. The door also comes open sometimes during driving. Anyone know how to fix this? Does the hindge just adjust or something?
