Default Heavy duty / urethane exhaust rubbers

My oem broke after two years, part 12. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...71&hg=18&fg=20

Are there aftermarket versions available that are sturdier. A generic one is fine also

    Cheers

If it's breaking, your exhaust isnt lined up properly... these shouldnt be under that much stress - they're acting mainly as lateral stabilisers. It's the big donut at the back that should be taking most of the system's weight...

My 540 kept popping these and it was because one of the cats was attached to the centre box at an off-normal angle.

I can't really do anything though. It looks aligned, there are no exhaust leaks in the exhaust but it still broke so I'm using a cable tie for now. the big doughnut is still there, but the small doughnut broke

You could try slacking off the bolts between the cat and the centre box, pushing the whole assembly upwards slightly then retightening it?

You might want to check that #13 and #14 are still are attached to your car:

Mine only has one of them and I'm ordering a new one from the dealer atm.

Your part is only $2-$3 at BMA. Just replaced mine when I redid the muffler. I have two brand new extra #15 rubber rings if anyone is interested.
