    Default Elec window jammed.

Before I take the door apart, I just wondered if their were any common problems with the rear door electric windows that I could go straight to checking rather than starting from scratch.

The rear window made some noises over a couple of days going up and down and then just stopped working. Its stopped (luckily) in the closed position. Its not the fuse and when the button is operated, I can still hear a relay or something inside the door click.

But its jammed shut and doesn't move at all. No other sounds other than the click when the switch is operated up or down.

Grasping the window between both hands and trying to force it down doesn't do anything - its doesn'tbudge one little bit.

Any ideas of where to go first?

Sounds like either the little plastic wheel broke (see pic for location) or the windowmotor seized up..

Have you tried giving the door panel a good smack? Mine often get stuck through lack of use or if its been wet and I give the door panel a good thud and this releases the window.

Although if you've tried pulling it down with your hands it might be something more serious but its worth a try before you pull the door apart.

Yeah, sit in the car and slam the door shut as you are holding the window switch down. If that doesn't free it up, likely the plastic sliders have broken and the arms are jammed. Not a big deal to remove the door panel and have a look. But the sliders are like $8 each! New ones make a big difference though.
