The valve body you have to clean, put in new plastic balls, a new main gasket, test all the valves, clean them, clean all channels with brake cleaner and compressed air. That is it mainly. And the main harness of the valve body might have to be replaced, the plastic at the pin/spade connectors on the valves breaks for sure, but that is not the problem. I usually remove all the broken crumbled plastic and the connectors are fine. But the problem is the 7 (old version 8 pin) connector at the side of the transmission, have seen it often and at the moment also have one where the transmission fluid goes out of the transmission in the area around the pins inside the plug. These pins are in plastic but apparently over so many years it gets brittle. Then the whole plug fills up with transmission fluid and I have heard of cases that the transmission of the data between transmission and TCU was interrupted and caused transmission trouble.

That set costs I assume around $ 100, I would replace it, just just found it here on the site our friend posted
