    Default Transmission 4HP22/24

    1992 735i... looked up the trans part # on real oem and it gave me 4HP22/24 my question is when I search the web all I find is 4HP22 why is there a slash 24.. does that mean I could use the upgraded 4HP24 trans if I wanted

    4HP24 is used on the E32 750, 735 has the 4HP22. You cannot upgrade to -24, the bell housing for example is much bigger as well as the torque converter to fit to the M70 engine, plus some internal changes in the housing. The housing outside is always the same and used in many other BMW, RangeRover, Peugeot, and so on.
