Default Another one bites the dust...

My 1990 535i with 362,212 miles hit straight on by a Chrysler 300 while parked. Insurance company totaled it.

Ran like a top. I took it up to 100+ regularly. It will be missed.

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like she was a great girl, hope mine makes it that far. At least you weren't hurt.

Sorry to hear that... Gosh... I don't know what insurance will even pay for your car... Did you get any number from them yet?

It's sad to see one go that has served so long. Are you able to buy it for salvage?
It would be fitting for some of it to live on rather than meet the crusher

Insurance payout is ~$1400 to total, $1000 to keep. I'm leaning towards total to avoid the parting out--heartbreaking--process. Had just filled up and was looking forward to an enjoyable weekend drive... Live and enjoy every moment, people!

You know... I'd force the insurance to pay for repair... What can you really buy for $1400? You can't even buy another E34 for that kind of money. Tell them to give you replacement car instead... this will up their payout.

They are forcing total loss because the body shop cost more than $1400. Ask your insueance agent to help you fight for more money. Don't let those scums get away with it.

It's whacked pretty good. Looks like the front corner is bent. Needs a fender, hood, bumper cover + the front corner straightened. I be surprised if they agreed to fix it. I'd fight for some more cash but I don't think you'll get anything more.

If you have put money into the car and have receipts to prove it, then drag all those out and start the show and tell.
