Default How to replace AC fan? & AC doesn't work on 1 or 2.

    Hey there,
My AC's fan is making an annoying noise, and the AC when I have it on 1 or 2 it would last maybe 30 seconds and then turns off, comes back on by itself after another 30 seconds or so. I have to keep it on 3 or 4 to be on, sometimes at 3 it would turn off too. I have to put it at 4 for some time then go back to 3.

Now I read while searching on the forum something about a resistor that solves this problem? I am not sure, if anyone can let me know that would be great.

I couldn't find instructions on bmwe34.net for replacing AC fan, and to replace whatever the other problem is.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, but on your car, I am not sure if you got resistor or sword. It is either one of the two.

Is your fan noisy on 4? If no, then just change the above parts and your microfilter.

noise is there if it is on 1 or 4 doesn't matter. So what exactly would need to be changed?

first do a check on 'sword'. yours is a 93 and should have a sword not a resistor pack used in the last few models. the sword is the speed controller, reducing the voltage to the fan by using a few 'moffsets' these things do burn out over time, the procedure to replace is posted on this forum a number of times, costs about $20 and takes 2-3 hours depending on skill level.

Strongly reccomend replacing Microfilter at the same time.

    Good Luck
