    Default zf4hp22 compatability e30 325 to '89 525??

    zf4hp22 compatibility e30 325 to '89 525??

Have 4hp22 from 325 with 25k. Credible source. Had since about 2000. Suspect from 325i but now not sure. Was only interested in 325is at the time.

    Two problems:

Identification on e30 trans does not map to realoem
    ZF4HP
    1072632
    1043010-690

REALOEM shows several ZF part nos. across e30 line and none same as e34 525i.

Torque converter and repair set part nos are consistent across models and years so at least the front and guts must be compatible.

Would like to keep trans for future use in wifey's 12/88 build 525 or if not compatible in a 325is or sell it.

if it's M20 to M20, non electric trans with the TV cable. It fits!

Might have to swap the output flange

no go, the 525 has a u-joint and the 325i has a guibo, the whole output shaft is different and not easily swappable
all america wants is cold beer warm cat and a place to take a poop with a door on it
