    Default She's gone! :'(

Well, it happened finally, in a rush that was too quick for comfort really

Put it up on ebay on weds and it was gone in less than 10 minutes as I'd put a 'buy it now' price of £1k on her just to shift.

A Polish bloke turned up yesterday evening and drove her away, though I think it's in safe hands as he's got a prior E34 that he's working on - building a 535i turbo

Sad to see it go to be honest, it's without doubt the best car I've owned to date. Here's hoping to fun with the E39, which I've been told this morning is going to be delayed as it needs *more* rear suspension work for its MOT, things are moving too quickly yet at the same time not fast enough.

I imagine I'll hang around for a while yet here, though I think I'll be more involved in the UK based forum now as they're mostly E39s over there.

    It's been a blast,
    Andy

If you're looking for a decent E39 forum, have a look at www.bmwland.co.uk - 75% of the 5 series people on there are E39 owners... and quite knowledgeable/helpful too.

    Default fanatisism

You are certainly a great guy but I won't you... or anyone dumping his E34 for that matter.

why do I get the feeling people who own E30s are more die hard oldschool believers than most E34 owners.

    E36 E39 and onwards = crap

call me a fanatic but I remember back then when E36s and E39s came out and I was just a kid dreaming of owning a car, my interest in the BMW brand disappeared. The look of those car suck!

unless BMW comes back to the aggressive styling of hard edges and 4 front head lights with no plastic crap, there is no way I will support the models.

anyway good luck with all the electronics prone to failure in the more recent cars.

I used to think like you. Drive an E39. Your mind will change. Mine did.

With the e39 just remember to buy the SRS (airbag) light reset tool and you're good to go!

Had my e39 2+ years after trading up from an e34. Absolutely no electrical/mechanical or other issues and IMHO it's a better and more fun/chuckable car to drive than the e34 due to the revised suspension. The e34 always felt "heavy" to me, maybe it was just knackared. Who knows?
