Default Help me de-activate my alarm

I have a 1995 uk spec. e34 525i sport with, as far as i can tell, a system t2 factory alarm fitted, although the alarm fobs are long gone.
Some recent frost killed the battery in my car, and since fitting a new battery the alarm is armed and i cant de-activate it.
    I have tried the procedure listed in my owners manual;

"If the system cannot be de-activated by the normal routine, follow this
    emergency procedure:
-Open the door with the key; the alarm will sound for 30s.
-Enter the car, close the door and turn the ignition key to position 1. The alarm will sound again for 30s.
-Wait for app. 15 minutes (LED goes out after about five minutes; then wait a further 10 minutes). Do not open
the door during this period, nor turn the ignition key away from position 1.
The system is now inactivated; have it checked by a BMW service station."

And it doesn't work, the LED doesn't light at all (flashes when the car is locked) and the alarm stays sounding once im in the car. I have tried this with the two keys that came with the car.
I have searched for the alarm module but cant seem to find it, its NOT under the back seat!
The car will start and drive but the alarm stays sounding.
    Any help appriciated fellas!

unplug the horn till you can get to a bmw dealer to have it serviced.

I could try that, but surely the indicators would still flash? Im a fair distance from my local dealers, I wouldn't like to drive there with no indicators to be honest.

The indicators won't be so bad compared to a loud alarm going off as you drive attracting attention.

Or you could pay for a towing.

Position one is like powering up radio only... not when your instrument cluster light up like christmas tree.

If that doesn't work, then try position two.

Thanks, but i've tried both keys in both positions (1&2) for over twenty mins each time, but no joy.
Im getting some dodgy looks from my neighbours as i've been at it most of the day and the alarms been going off constantly!

Pull the fuses out for the alarm... I think they are under the back seat.

y'all must have different alarms from the US alpine unit.

ours defaults to off, and doesn't connect to the lights... that would only be an after market alarm in the US

for any alarm, killing power to the brain deactivates it, so see if you can find the brain via some exploratory surgery (common install locations- rear under seat, under drivers dash, drivers kick panel) and unplug the brain.
