So I turn to you guys because a large majority of you guys know your ****. Since I bought my e28 last year the rear makes a popping/clunking noise when driven over significant bumps in the road. It sounds like it's coming from the drivers side but I'm not 100% sure because I'm the one always driving (duh). So I'm wondering if it's the subframe bushings or strut mounts. Now I know my subframe bushings are toast because when it rains and they get wet I get the nice bang from the rear end when shifting from 1st to 2nd but in the dry it's all good. Now I'm not sure if I've been paying attention to the rear clunking more often now that I've eliminated other clunks from the front end (does it ever end? ) but it does seem to be getting louder. So do you guys think it's the subframe bushings or a torn strut mount. Hopefully I'm getting some suspension this year for Christmas so obviously I was going to change out the mounts anyway.

So what say you guys?

Thanks for any input, Andrew
