    Default Front strut bearings

Are these really $120?! I just spent like 1500 on suspension and front-end components, it really is a shame I have to dish out even more money just to get rid of a damn clunk!

I feel your pain, I've gotta do both of these now - the advantage being though I've got new springs to put in now as well so I'd have to strip that lot down anyway.

Cheapest I can find them in the UK is about $100 a side + tax

A little OT, but does anyone know why the Meyle are $140 a side and Sachs are $35 a side (BMA)? Thats a whopping difference and I wouldn't expect plastic bearings in the Sachs

    Curious,

I think the cheaper ones may just be the rear strut mounts, whereas the (more expensive) front mounts have a bearing in them

Curious indeed... I'm not sure why I couldn't find these last night when I punched my car in. I think they changed the suspension slightly mid-1990 production and perhaps they changed it so the bearing is a seperate part from the mount itself

edit: check out the options for my car

Ooops, sorry if I misled. I included a link to the mounts for my 91 525. There was a change in strut piston diameter and the top mounting nut at some point, which likely explains the difference. However, always call BMA for the real scoop, they may have teh Sachs or something cheaper for your 535.
