spring/ shock combo's

I am beginning my search for spring/shock combo's that will lower the '95 525i by 1" in back and 1.5 front. I don't want to compromise the ride comfort too much, but I do want better handling in corners. I will post this message in case you would rather answer it that way. My questions are as follows;

1. Does the sachs kit lower the car?
2. How does the ride feel?
3. Is the cornering better than stock?
4. What size tires/wheels can I run?
5. Where can I buy the spring/shock kit from?

from what i heard, it's pretty good.

should be.

stock, upgrades to 17 and 18 should be fine.
