    Default K&N filters

So I ran into a guy at work that praised K&N and highly recommended it to me. So how many people here are running with K&N filters?

He drove a 5.0 Mustang, just incase anyone wanted to know.

K&N = no power gained and more dirt/oil in the intake tract.

    Just say NO.

I´m using a K&N, but not the open version the insert one.. No gain just a slightly better roar but it works just fine! (so far)

I run a stock replacement K&N air filter... I tried to put a cone in and get it to work but the stock airbox in an e34 is not restrictive...

the 5.0 mustang has a super restrictive air box so the removal of the box gains power

THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR THE E34 all the cone does it make ur car louder.

K&N filters = say goodbye to your MAF

There's very little point putting non-stock filters on a bimmer other than for the induction roar... (which is v.v.v.nice on the v8 btw) but for the induction roar you can just pop out the noise baffle in the front of the air box.

In something like a ford where the airboxes/filters can be badly designed, I wouldnt be surprised if a cone type filter improves performance.
