Transmission Leak

I have a 1984 Lincoln with the same diesel engine that is in the BMW 324td . The 4HP22 transmission developed a big leak and driving me ! I installed a new converter seal and bushing, it still leaks in the car, but when I mounted in my lathe, works fine and has no leaks. I have tested it in the car twice and on the lathe twice, leaks in the car, but not on the lathe. What do you think I should do next?

Someone mentioned testing a torque converter for leaks with air pressure, does anyone know how this is done?

Thanks for the suggestion, I did e-mail Winfred about the main problem, No answer,it must have him stumped too, or maybe he didn't receive it.
